The South African Qualification & Certification Committee (SAQCC) for Fire is an industry-elected body, Mandated by the Department of Employment and Labour, to register individuals working within the sector, ensuring they have the appropriate competence through training, qualifications and experience.

Compliance is based on specifications detailed in the relevant standards:

• SANS 1475 for servicing of portable fire extinguishers, hose reels and hydrants
• SANS14520 and/or SANS306 for design, installation, commissioning and servicing of gaseous fire extinguishing systems
• SANS10139 for design, installation, servicing and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems.

SAQCC Fire is a Non-Profit Company and its directors are volunteers from the fire industry.
